Let’s talk about (pregnancy) sex, baby!
TL;DR:
Subject: Pregnancy sex
Ask a Sex Therapist: I’m pregnant. What’s gonna happen to my sex life?
Unplug: People We Meet on Vacation
Currently watching: Bridgerton. Obviously.
Expert tip: Lube it. Lube it real good.
Subject: Pregnancy sex
One of my favorite topics to discuss with my clients as a Certified Nurse Midwife is sex. I mean, I love so much about my job. I love getting the honor of weighing and measuring new babies, supporting laboring women, feeling pregnant bellies, etc. But…talking about sex is so fun. And I love helping pregnant women and new moms figure out how to make sex work for them as they go through all the changes the childbearing years bring.
That all being said…I’m no sex therapist. That’s why I found one to answer all your burning pregnancy sex questions.

Meet Ashley, MS, LPC, PMHC
Ashley: I am a mom of three, with a set of twin boys in the mix, so any given day you can find me picking up hot wheel cars or driving my daughter to dance. I am not a super formal therapist so please don’t be alarmed if a stray curse word pops out in session. To my own detriment, I jump at the chance in any social setting to talk about birth and women’s health care. In my free time, find me roaming the aisles of a thrift store or rescuing plants from the clearance section at Lowe’s. I have been married to my husband for 12 years and we love (attempting) to explore the mountains with the kiddos and finding any excuse to travel together. Art museums, strong coffee, gardening, dance, live music and a good novel are a few things that bring me immense joy.

Ashley, MS, LPC, PMHC

Unplug: People We Meet on Vacation
I’ve always loved reading, but since becoming a wife and mom I don’t read nearly as much as I used to when I was young, single, and had gobs of freetime.
Anyways I spend waaay too much time watching reality tv now, which I love and find super relaxing, but I’m making an effort to get back into reading real books and I’m starting with a summer beach read.
I just started…like literally just read a page and a half, but I can already tell it’s gonna be sooo good.
You can buy People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry if you wanna read it too.
It’ll be like a Saucy Mama book club!
Currently watching: Bridgerton. Obviously.
Warning! Spoiler alert!
So I binged Bridgerton and I can’t believe we have to wait until June 13th for more. They seriously have some gall making us wait that long!
What did you think about the carriage scene? I didn’t expect it to be so steamy! The entire time I was like Yes! Get it Penelope! You go girl!
I was multitasking when the scene started and I quickly realized what was going down and stopped scrolling my socials to fully focus on C and P. I was not disappointed.
I know Colin doesn’t know that she’s Lady Whistledown yet and when he does find out there is definitely gonna be some drama and maybe a brief falling out between him and Penelope, but I honestly think those two will be fine by the end of this season and live happily ever after.
I’m not stressed about it.
I also love Queen Charlotte’s wig this season. They are epic.
Expert tip: Lube it. Lube it real good.
Whether you’re currently pregnant, newly postpartum, or breastfeeding you might want to seriously consider using a good lube to enhance your sex life.
